The sinking of the 'unsinkable' Titanic is an event which always stirs emotions. This account will be exceptionally moving for children and includes many touching Gospel opportunities taken on board by John Harper, pastor of a London Baptist church, on his way to speak at Moody's church in Chicago.
He was accompanied by his six-year-old daughter whose mother had died when she was born. The writer takes us with them to visit the proud and luxurious liner and its passengers (many very wealthy) before describing the tragic events of the night. John's determination to witness to Christ right until the icy cold waves drowned his body, will challenge young believers.
The child's faith in a heavenly home provided by the Saviour first for her mother and then, at the close, for her father will movingly speak to today's children, so often sheltered from the reality of death.
The closing Timeline, Take Five Minutes and Bible Study verses add to the value of the book. (Publisher's suggestion: read to ages 7-9; read myself: ages 9-14+)
