Revelation: A Manual of Spiritual Warfare (2 volume set)

This remarkable commentary is easily the most pastoral work I have even seen on Revelation. It follows firmly in the footsteps of that of Dr William Hendriksen, but greatly expands on it.
Derived from expository sermons, it is written with exceptional clarity, and an abundance of pastoral and devotional application.
It is large, and some may feel that its length is inflated by the large number of Scripture quotations given in full, but these are very helpful. Often when people give proof references or the Old Testament origins of symbols in the book of Revelation, you look at the reference, but you don't look it up; you keep reading. It is very good to have them quoted in full as it helps fix your eye on them, and you see with new clarity the source of the symbols.
A pastor said to me - it is a commentary you can take to bed with you. But I don't recommend it unless you want to be reading when the alarm goes off!
I recommend it heartily. It is extremely stimulating for all readers and particularly for message preparers and preachers.
