An interesting and readable survey of a number of English Calvinistic Baptist preachers from the death of John Gill to the time of C H Spurgeon, including treatment of controversies, such as open or closed communion and the free offer of the Gospel. A large part of the work focuses on the Strict Baptist movement and its hyper-Calvinistic wing.
