Reviews mostly by Dr Peter Masters

In times when the typical significance of the Old Testament is given less attention, a work such as this is of great value. It teems with application of a moral and devotional character, and, despite its size, was written (in 1859) for the general Christian reader. However, it is best as a work for pastors and teachers as the author frequently over-strains the detailed features of types. Instructive and suggestive.
