This is certainly not a popular biography, but measured by other serious historical works it is a dazzling read. From the contradictory theology of Henry VIII, the evangelical agenda is traced in terms of its derivation, development and pragmatic achievability. Enjoyable, deepening and broadening in the best sense, this brings us to strongly admire the heroes of faith, appreciate the spiritual substance of the boy king, thank God for the work of the Spirit in lives, and ' as an unintended benefit ' to value so much more the light of biblical independency.
